Exam: reading

The exam task. Reading at A2 means everyday texts like the ones in this unit: ads, notices, opening hours, short messages.

Goethe-Zertifikat A2 Lesen: four parts with five items each, 30 minutes.
ÖSD Zertifikat A2 Lesen: two tasks, 30 minutes.

Checkpoint: open the reading simulator and do a full run. In both exams Lesen is worth 25 points; aim for at least 20. You don’t need every word: prices, times and a small kein or nicht often decide an answer.

Tip

In the ads, watch for kein and nicht — one little word flips the answer. Read the question first, then hunt for its keyword in the text.
