On the phone
Formal phone calls in German follow a familiar script: many people answer with their name (Müller, guten Tag), state their business (Ich rufe wegen … an) and close with Auf Wiederhören — the phone version of Auf Wiedersehen.
Tip
Auf Wiederhören only on the phone — hören, because you only hear each other.
