Separable verbs

When a separable verb is the finite verb in a main clause, its prefix separates: Der Kurs fängt an. Ich kaufe ein. Ich stehe auf. It stays together in a verb-final subordinate clause (weil ich einkaufe) and as an infinitive after a modal (ich möchte einkaufen).
