Not understanding a question is normal — and you may ask. Asking for a repeat keeps the conversation going; silence does not. These lines help in any exam conversation.
Tip
Say the whole question confidently — a well-formed "Können Sie das bitte wiederholen?" sounds like A2, not like panic.
