Writing & speaking: the parts
Goethe Schreiben (30 minutes): Teil 1 an SMS to a friend (du), 20–30 words; Teil 2 a semi-formal e-mail (Sie), 30–40 words — each with three content points. Goethe Sprechen (in pairs, no preparation time): Teil 1 you ask your partner four questions from word cards and answer theirs; Teil 2 you talk about your life from a card, then the examiner asks follow-up questions; Teil 3 you plan something together.
Tip
Cover all three content points in each task and use language suited to the recipient. Keep Teil 1 at 20–30 words and Teil 2 at 30–40. For the e-mail, use a suitable salutation, closing and name; a short SMS can use a brief greeting and sign-off appropriate to its context.
