The verb goes in position 2

In a main-clause statement, the finite verb is the second element. The first element may contain several words: Um 7 Uhr stehe ich auf.

Yes/no questions put the verb first: Kommst du mit? In an imperative, the verb also normally comes first, but bitte may precede it: Bitte warten Sie hier.
